I have a curious mind with an absorbent ear. I am my past and my future. I am rooted in Black Dance, but educated in many techniques. I am contraction and release. I think in academia but believe in movement. I am Imani Shivers. I am an artist.

As a dancer, I pride myself on my work ethic and my ability to adapt to most styles of movement.

As an instructor, I believe that knowledge is more important than phrase-work. A smart dancer can accomplish many things, in various environments, that simply just a dancer cannot.

As a choreographer, I am interested in researching ideas and expressing them through movement. Dance allows me the opportunity to hold experiments and create theories.
